my wife reports from the rode that a police escort “about a mile long, measured from front to back” is fouling up traffic entering into west seattle - presumably crossing the west seattle bridge and getting off at the fauntleroy/alaska interchange [no way would they go down delridge!]
can’t find anything online or in my email cluing as to who’s here, but apparently it is someone tres big. who gets a police escort like that any more? the last person who did was bush, doing a word of mouth fundraiser on the east side.

hi, we reported on this to some degree earlier today. never could get official confirmation but the general consensus seems to be the same kind of motorcade that did the same thing six months ago — practice. SPD says they practice periodically to keep their skills fresh for when dignitaries come to town, and they avoid rush hours, which would concur with the time frame all this happened in.
