five things

interesting?  you decide.

at the behest of the long-lost lizard - five “interesting things” about me, link back to tagger, tag six more people…..you get the idea.

1.  i’ve had a lot of interesting jobs.  one of them was shoveling gigantic piles of feces and urine soaked hay from a disused cow barn – some of which, i had been told, had lain undisturbed for decades.

2.  i prefer living in the city, but i am equal parts country person by upbringing.  my wife knows this to her chagrin every time i lapse into the unfortunate patois of the white trash.  most people do not know that a fair portion of my childhood was spent on a farm, and i did a goodly portion of work with my hands during that time.  as such, i have always preferred working with my hands to other kinds of work.  strangely however, all of my book larnin’ have rendered me unskilled in either field, neither fish nor fowl nor good red herring.

3.  i really am an anarchist.  totally.  i believe in the eventual abolishment of governments, armies, prisons, police forces, the monetary system, the whole shebang.  however, i am one of those boring old “work within the system” anarchists and have never thrown a molotov cocktail or a brick.  although i have run from cops on horseback.

4.  for a period of time i was a seriously practicing macrobiotic (some call them ‘macro-neurotics’, and for good reason).  i actually brought brown rice and rolled oats everywhere i went, and would cook my own food at gatherings that did not supply acceptable cuisine.  then i fell off the wagon hard and am now back in the loving arms of the double bacon cheeseburger.  as you can imagine, i’m about twice the weight i was then.

5.  when i was about 11 years old i typed an entire sword and sorcery epic novel on my mom’s Olympia = nearly a thousand pages worth.

who should i tag?  let’s try the ever-reliable dr. zaius, the ever-wise brenda stardom, the boundlessly compassionate dru blood, the passionately committed roni, the ever cerulean blue gal, and the indomitable and witty konagod.  i’m going to break the rules and make it a lucky 7 with my lucky friend kalilily.

haveatyou!  gesundheit!
