“DPG troll”

[Acronym+ noun] - Doubleplusgood Troll. Alt. Paid Doubleplusgood Troll or PDPGT. Someone paid to leave positive comments at web sites that offer “customer reviews” and/or a star rating system. A DPG Troll can often be spotted on a particular review page in which the majority of ratings are 3 or below, and feature a spectrum of complaints, from mild to serious; the troll comment usually stands out by being 5 stars and lists under “Cons: None that I can think of!” They are also written in a dubiously cheerful tone. Few people write consumer reviews on the internet with the intent to grant unmitigated praise, and when they do, their sincerity is evident in the length of detail to which they go to establish veracity. The DPG Troll’s post usually sounds like poorly written advertising copy, which is what it in essence is.

[N. - pr. 'whitey'] - Caucasian male. Exp.: Unquestionably, my own status as a White-He has conferred considerable privilege upon me.
